Kelly and I were walking Rose๐Ÿ• recently and she (Kelly, not Rose) told me that the trees were already beginning to change. As I said, ๐ŸŒžAugust๐Ÿ”ฅ might as well be ๐Ÿ‚ Autumn ๐Ÿ‚ because life is getting better all the time. ๐Ÿงก

A Matter Of Time

A great artist is always before his time or behind it. ~George Edward Moore

Well, this artist is well behind his time, but better late than never.

I’ve finally finished up a lot of that stuff I’ve been whinging about for the last however-many posts.

You know what that means, don’t you?

It’s go time, baby!

I’m actually going to have time and mental capacity to get back to all the outstanding work I need to do for Nerdsylvania Publishing, LLC.

I do have a programming project for the weekend, but it’s not going to eat up too much of my writing time.

Freaking finally…

I’ll let you know how I’m getting on. Boy, have I got a lot to catch up on! I believe this weekend will revolve around laying some serious plans for addressing the overdue items in my own business.

Time To Stop And Smell The Flowers

*** – Goodbye July ! – Welcome August ! – *** ( Beautiful colors of August )

So, I’ve got a moment to actually kick back and genuinely relax for the first time in quite a while.

Even though it’s still the middle of ๐ŸŒžSummer๐Ÿ”ฅ and periodically spikes to intolerable temperatures, I’m actually feeling great.

That’s primarily because I can stay inside and avoid the hellish reality of ๐ŸŒžSummertime๐Ÿ”ฅ.

Thank God for small favors!

So, that’s this weekend in a nutshell: Relax โžก๏ธ Appreciate โžก๏ธ Plan โžก๏ธ Do

As Much As Possible

Well, they’ve been suffering for lack of any books in my Sentinels series. I’m expecting to correct that soon.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m still a bit stymied over some of the plot points. Trying to lay out a coherent series will take a lot more preparation than I’m used to doing.

I’ve been taking in a lot of storytelling advice, analysis of classic comic book and MCU storylines and all-around obsessive geekery to help me with what works, what doesn’t and what hasn’t been tried yet.

The important thing is the planning. That doesn’t come naturally to me at all. My creativity is more like throwing pottery. Just slap down a glob of clay, spin and shape it into something pleasing.

Much like pottery throwing, the results aren’t always that great unless you’re tremendously skilled.ย Throwing words on a page can be just as haphazard.

The skill of throwing pottery also depends on a plan. You’ve got an end goal in mind. If you pinch it this way, you’ll get a vase. If you shape it that way, you’ll get a plate. If you apply another technique, you can wind up wth a garden gnome.

Note that I’m not a potter. Kelly and I binged The Great Pottery Throw Down a while back and the comparison seemed apt.

In any case, this weekend is for planning. If there’s time, maybe even some doing. That depends on how long it takes me to fix the bit of programming I have to work on.

That’s all for this weekend. I’ve got plenty to catch up on after this long work crunch. Take some time to enjoy the world around you. There’s plenty out there to enjoy.
