Going Places

Kelly and I took Emmeline to school to meet up with her tour group and then ran some errands on the way home.

Running Around

So, the reason Emmeline had to meet up with her tour group is that she’s going on a three-week research trip to the UK. I’m sure she’ll have a marvelous time.

Kelly and I popped in on her parents and her sister for a while and they informed us that the Book Bonanza was taking place this weekend. Considering we just went to the Newspaper In Education Used Book Sale in Pottsville yesterday, we couldn’t help but stop in to see what was available at the Reading event on our way home. I got some more Ed McBain novels, some cookbooks and some Christmas-themed novels and short story anthologies.

It seems like I spend a lot of my time running around but we’ve got 4 kids and they need to go places. I’m the designated driver.

Take Control Of Your Day

Frank is very famous in Online Marketing circles but he’s sticking to his humble origins persona

I’ve got a task tracking application that I’ve subscribed to for several years now that really helps me keep on track (sort of). It’s called Remember The Milk.

I find it incredibly helpful in keeping up with periodic tasks and doctor’s appointments. As an arch-procrastinator, I’m sadly all too used to clicking the postpone button on work-related tasks. Whether because of scheduling conflicts or being too ambitious, the cans get kicked down the road for days and weeks at a time. I will have to get better at that.

However, being able to add tasks via text message is incredibly cool. When something comes up that I need to add to my task list and I’m not near my computer, I can text it from my primitive little flip phone. Making tasks is one thing. Completing them is still a bit fuzzy but I’m working on sticking to my assigned tasks.

Now that I’m actually getting sleep, my creativity and ambition are beginning to wake up again. I’ve been putting my creativity into my novel writing but I’m also wanting to pick up on my email list building efforts again.

God, it’s been such a long time.

Habits

For a variety of completely valid reasons, I haven’t made any progress on my story lately. I’m getting kind of ticked about it. Focus isn’t what it used to be but it’s better than it has been for the last couple of years.

In fairness, I’ve been spending my writing time reading. I’ve been waiting for Enola’s book for quite some time so she jumps to the front of the priority queue for the time being. That sounds terribly remiss but it is what it is.

Made a better version of the deconstructed cabbage roll but we’re all agreed that I should have added rice or noodles. There’s always next time. Each iteration is an improvement on the last.
