Finally Fall!
As predicted, Autumn began in earnest on Thursday. Thank God! I couldn’t stand another hot day. Hopefully, we’ll be spared any more of that nonsense this year.
AUTUMN AT LAST!!!
Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.
~F. Scott Fitzgerald
A lot of the best things in life really kick off with the arrival of Autumn:
- Relief from the sweltering days of Summer
- The harvest’s best produce and derivative products
- Crisp days and cool nights
- Halloween
- Thanksgiving
- Christmastime
- Winter!
- It just keeps getting better from here on in…
Another benefit, for me, is that the cool, dry air of Autumn is helping me to actually breathe!
I can breathe again!!!
In conditions such as we’re enjoying now, I can not only breathe but I can conceivably do things without drowning in perspiration.
The doctor wants me to get back on my feet to help burn off some of the weight I’ve accumulated in my convalescence. Helps when it’s not like stepping into a blindingly bright oven. The shorter days allow for more opportunities to take a long walk at twilight to enjoy the onset of night and soak in the glorious chill.
The trick is to actually tear myself away from my work and go do it. As the Ferengi say: Nothing is more important than your health… except for your money.
Rule #92: There are many paths to profit
FERENGI: Cultural Index
A couple of years ago, I included the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition in a series of posts starting with one titled, The Rules. I wanted to walk through the Rules of Acquisition and explore how they apply to actual online business conduct.
As I keep coming across new business opportunities and concepts, my mind gets more and more excited about finding the ones that work best for me. There are various parts and aspects to these kinds of ventures that determine who’s best to execute them. Some strategies work best for gregarious people and some work better for hermits (like me).
The ones that appeal most to me are the ones that allow you to continue getting paid for work you’ve already done.
Creating the Future
The best way to predict your future is to create it. ~Abraham Lincoln
This path that I’m on is a rocky one but I’m planting seeds of future comfort.
Recovery has been long and arduous but it’s still not done. One of the few benefits of being in perpetual discomfort is that it makes you appreciate any gains you make. My chest doesn’t hurt as much as it used to, but I’m nowhere near being capable of normal activity.
As such, I continue on with my projects.
I’ll be writing a bit more of A Misfit Christmas tonight because there’s a hard delivery date on that. I still haven’t got a solid idea of where the story is going. There are some elements that have been requested by folks in the Christmas groups I belong to on Facebook, but no specific plot has suggested itself to me despite the Hallmark Channel Movies format I’m emulating.
I’ve made some big strides with the Sentinels. A fellow who will eventually become a recurring supervillain has kicked over a hornet’s nest with the Conclave and it’s going to trigger some pretty dramatic results for heroes and villains alike.
I realized that I have a number of properties that don’t fall under the Christmas, Prepper or Stress-Relief categories, so I started a new store under this site where I can sell random stuff that I’ve accumulated over the years or will be making in the near future based on ideas I’ve come across lately.
Without a , you’re not selling anything.
I’ve got a lot of content but few .
I’ll be fixing that in the coming weeks.
Stay tuned…
Keeping it short today. I’ve got way, way, way too much work to do and I haven’t even made dinner yet. See you Wednesday.
