National Pumpkin Cheesecake Day 2023

Quite apropos for an October weekend, it’s National Pumpkin Cheesecake Day.

Love 💏 Is

Love doesn’t make the world go ’round. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile. ~Franklin P. Jones

Well, you can say that again. All I have to do is look at my lovely wife and know it’s all worthwhile.

I have the inestimable privilege of having a best friend who is not only as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.

Part of the comfort of my very favorite season is that the colder temperatures give her reason to snuggle up with me more often.

Is it any wonder I prefer 🍂Autumn🍂?

The BEST Pumpkin Cheesecake

I don’t know that there’s a sugar-free option for this seasonal treat, but I’d love to know of such a thing. I wouldn’t mind having a large slice of this as a cheat treat, but my A1C is actually going down for once.

So many lovely things I really shouldn’t have…

What I can have is the splendid seasonal hygge joy of cozying up with my beloved wife and spending time in her splendid presence. What could be sweeter than that?

The ☯️ Way

Art is not a thing; it is a way. ~Elbert Hubbard

I can attest. Whatever habit or hobby of creativity you may have typically borders on obsession.

Singers sing. They can’t help it. The more they’re feeling, the more they sing.

Artists are compelled to decorate the world around them. They doodle in the margins. They draw for fun. They arrange things in their house in splendid ways. They can’t resist.

Writers write. We construct stories in our heads. We examine the world around us and tell ourselves stories of how a soda machine came to fall over or why someone would go to the dollar store in fuzzy bunny slippers. Life’s little incongruities inspire little stories. It’s just fun and we can’t refrain from doing so.

Whatever it is that gives you joy, do more of that. Find your passion and channel it in ways that enrich your life.

That’s our mid-October Hygge Saturday in a nutshell. I hope you’re having a lovely weekend.
