Steps Down

Saw the Worker’s Compensation doctor again today for the last time.

Ouchy

Unfortunately, it’s not because my ankle is better. I’ve been released to an orthopedic specialist for supplementary care. I’m still walking with a bit of a limp and toddling about for more than 5-10 minutes at a stretch is the beginning of an intolerable pain. Walking downstairs gets me to pain index 5 in a heartbeat.

Some sprained ankle.

My ribs have almost entirely healed, but my ankle continues to hurt as if I injured it last week. Really annoying.

Passing of a Legend

Sadly, we lost Stan Lee this week. The creative genius behind so many of Marvel Comics’ most noteworthy characters lived to see 95 years. What an incredible impact a single life can have.

He genuinely embodies the value of creative types. He helped to create a modern mythology and spurred on an entirely new and unique form of fiction.

Most importantly, he was a genuinely nice man. The only way to have a lasting positive impact in this world is to genuinely care about others and to be willing to do something about it. Stan Lee made so very many important contributions to the genre and to humanity.

You will be missed, Stan.

Adversity

Expect problems and eat them for breakfast. ~Alfred A. Montapert

Expecting problems is part of being prepared for them. It’s all well and good to be optimistic, but one needn’t be a Pollyanna.

Knowing that problems will occur helps to blunt their edge. Likewise, knowing what kinds of problems might occur in any circumstance helps one cope with them when they arise.

Being aware of potential problems not only helps you to avoid them, but to help others avoid them as well.

Keeping it short today. I’ve got to run to physical therapy. Talk with you this weekend.

    1. It’s really ungainly and uncomfortable when I do that right now. Hopefully, the orthopedist will be able to help with that.

      You’re a card, Barbie. 😀
