❄️Winter Wonderland 2022❄️

Sean Bean tried to warn you, but now it’s here. Welcome to the ❄️ frosty finale ❄️ of a fairly verrucht year.

❄️ In Winter Enjoy ❄️

In seed time learn, in harvest teach, in winter enjoy. ~William Blake

That’s a big ask this time around.

As much as I love 🍂Autumn🍂 and ❄️ Winter ❄️, current events are sucking the joy out of my favorite time of the year.

On the personal, professional and existential levels, there’s a whole lot of suck going on lately and it’s very much the opposite of where I wanted things to be at this point.

Something definitely has to change before something truly unfortunate happens.

I’ve been here before and the lack of a release valve rarely portends good things.

🎄 Im supposed to be having fun, dammit! 🎄

I’m having, literally, the opposite of fun right now.

Of course, my cold is making me extra-cranky, but there’s plenty to be cranky about without the assistance of a persistent cough, concussion-inducing sneezes and a runny nose. Don’t even get me started on the hot flashes…

C’mon Dayquil. Do your thing…

❄️ Merry Frostmas, Everyone! ❄️

So, cranky and ill, I present this extended holiday medley for your enjoyment.

I listen to 👆🏼 this one 👆🏼 while I’m writing my Holiday Season Serial Romances.

It’s not so specifically Christmassy as to be distracting, but has enough hints of Christmas songs to put me in the right frame of mind.

I’ve tried using Christmas song playlists while I write, but the lyrics distract me from the story. I use such a playlist to get me into the spirit for writing, but when I actually put fingers to keys, I find that I need something vague and somewhat Christmassy to facilitate the actual writing.

⚠️ I wasn’t planning to rant, but the Senate RINOs are making me even crankier than I already was. What a bunch of assholes. Just pass a continuing resolution to get us to January so the House Republicans can have a fair chance to disappoint and completely backstab us. ⚠️

It’s not bad enough the Blue Team is trying to 🚽 this country of ours, but the dirtbag faux-Republicans have to help them do it. Between the bunch of them, they’re running things like Jack Frost ran the North Pole in Santa Clause 3. It’s all a big ego trip and quite the opposite of how things are supposed to be.

Santa Clause 3 – North Pole, North Pole

You know what? They’re getting the Clark Griswold treatment for the crap they’re pulling on us.

Okay, now that I’ve got that out of my system, I can try to enjoy one of my favorite parts of the holiday season.

What’s that, you ask?

As much as I love decorations, holiday music, sweet treats and general Christmas frivolity, it’s just not Christmastime until the Snow Miser does his song and dance.

❄️ Winter ❄️

Winter is a season of recovery and preparation. ~Paul Theroux

Well, it would be if I could actually take a minute to stop and catch up.

As usual, things are proceeding at an unsustainable pace and the work just keeps piling up.

I managed to buy myself another week in scheduled episodes of Merry 🔔 Bells, but I’d much prefer to have finished it already.

Whatever

You do what you can while you can, and that’s exactly where I’m at.

Recovery? Bah!

Preparation? Humbug!

I’ll just keep zooming along like I’ve got a JATO 🚀 unit strapped to my back and maybe 🎅🏻 Santa will bring me an aneurysm 🤯 for Christmas…

That’s all for this hygge, holiday Hump Day. I’ve got plenty to do and the year’s running out with alarming haste. I hope you’re enjoying your holiday season.
