Wright Brothers Day 2022
We visited the Wright Brothers Memorial site when we were down the shore last month. It was a fascinating educational experience and celebration of American ingenuity. We need more intrepid souls like Wilbur and Orville to make the impossible possible and less feckless wankers who take the possible and make it impossible.

Normally, I’d be attending my local writers’ group meeting this morning. Unfortunately, things ain’t normal.
I had at least a week’s lead time written for Merry 🔔 Bells up to this point. Now, it’s a few days and that’s not great. So, it’s time to hunker down and get some serious work done this weekend.
So, as the good reverend quoted above has said, I’ve got to get things done by leaving some other things undone. Actually, a lot of things.
I’ve got a lot of writing to do, a lot of editing and graphics to do, a lot of extraneous things not to do.
It’s been a busy year, but I’m not about to let this be the year where I run out of time before I run out of story. I’ve got writing to do and no time for anything else.
Jeez…
Christmas Tree Is Up!

Fortunately, Kelly has continued making Christmas appear as if by magic. The tree is up, as is our custom on the 15th.
Unfortunately, I don’t really have time to enjoy or appreciate it. I’m just too busy at work and way too busy at writing to properly enjoy the Christmas Season this year.
I kind of hate that.
I really wanted to be in a mode of coasting through the end of the year. Instead, I feel more like this:

Being perpetually rushed and harried is not my idea of Christmas Spirit. It’s actually sort of spoiling it for me entirely.
That’s why I wanted to be done before Thanksgiving this year. I’ll have to speed up production on my monthlies in 2023 so that I’ve got the time I need to get next year’s Holiday Season Serial Romance done early.
Even saying that really spoils things for me. It’s not even next year and I’m already in a hurry to be done with nine months of articles. Man, oh man…
Medium Rare

Which isn’t saying much. No medium likes me at the moment.
I’m too busy at work with all the stuff that needs doing there and I’m too busy trying to get ahead on Merry 🔔 Bells to give myself a moment’s peace.
This literally just sucks.
Of course, work and/or writing aren’t necessarily always fun. That’s fine. That’s normal.
What I don’t like is that all the stuff I can’t get to but must is giving me the feeling that I’m building up to an aneurysm or something.
Something has to give.
One cannot spend the entire journey pushing the afterburners:

And that’s how life is. You can’t hold the turbo down indefinitely or you’ll wind up breaking your Beryllium Sphere and running headlong into a cloud of magnetic mines.
I’m not even running away from General Sarris. I’m just trying to dig my way out of a friggin’ avalance of too damned much to do at a time of year when it’s a given that people who aren’t Santa’s Elves should be on go-slow.
So, there is no medium that likes me at the moment, unless you count being perilously busy as a medium.
Nah, fam. That’s a game I don’t need to play.
I’ve got to find some kind of reserve to dig into and just get 💩 done. Easy to say, not so easy to do…
