π₯§ Pumpkin π NiceΒ π₯§
The Autumnal Equinox came and went with a slice of sugar-free spice cake. When I woke up yesterday, a miracle had occurred. It was 48Β°F. Perfect sleeping weather. Just what I’ve been waiting for…
π Finally π Autumn π
I saw old Autumn in the misty morn stand shadowless like silence, listening to silence. ~Thomas Hood
Ohhhhhhhhh yeeeaaaahhhhh…
Exactly what I’ve been waiting for. I’m so jazzed for π Autumn π.
I brewed a pot of spicy apple tea and simply enjoyed the change in the weather.
I can make nice stuff for dinner without getting scolded for using the oven.
It’s absolutely awesome.
I’m so close to being done with some of the projects that have been dragging at work.
That’s going to be yet another spectacular π Autumn π treat when I get that stuff behind me.
As to what’s before me, my niece’s wedding is coming up in a few weeks and our big family hiatus in November is another thing to look forward to.
Wedding Episodes

|
|
Okay, so Rings of Power didn’t really have a wedding episode, but the Numenorean expedition is sort of like a renewal of a formerly close relationship.
As Kelly would say, it’s pretty pretty love… |
Gee, even my current batch of binge-worthy shows have weddings on the brain.
The She-Hulk episode was a comical take on wedding tropes of all kinds.
The House of the Dragon stuck to the classic Game of Thrones tendency to wreck perfectly good weddings.
There wasn’t a wedding in this week’s episode of Rings of Power, but there was enough bickering among the characters that you’d think some of them were married.
It’s fun to see how different shows handle the topic of marriage and relationships.
It’s something I’ll be exploring in this year’s Holiday Season Serial Romance. Meredith Belzer is going to be one of Ivy‘sΒ bridesmaids, so the whole wedding-prep vibe will add some tension and flair to their holiday season.
I’m still laying out the basic points of the story, but I’ll start writing it pretty soon in order to be done before Thanksgiving Day this year.
That’s the plan this year, and I think I can actually pull it off.
Heroes Revealed
Hard times don’t create heroes. It is during the hard times when the ‘hero’ within us is revealed. ~Bob Riley
As for The Sentinels, I’m still moving things around in my head to get the story pacing fixed.
In order to get a first draft done, I need to focus on MVP (minimum viable product). Just the bare bones of the story that will be told.
Thing is, I also need to add some foreshadowing onto those bare bones in order to make the whole series more cohesive.
I envisioned the grand arc of the series to be vaguely based on the Hero’s Journey plot structure.
I’ve got a basic idea of who the key antagonists are for each segment of the journey and prior work that I’ve put into the various members of the team.
It’s hard not to get too far ahead of myself planning all this out, but I need to have the eventualities in order to foreshadow them appropriately.
Of course, whenever π Autumn π rolls around, it makes me want to shift gears and jump in to the fantasy genre.
I have been giving some tangential thought to Tales Of Olde Auringia, if only because there are so many interesting fantasy series and movies available for me to catch up on.
There’s something inherently fantastical about my favorite season of the year. Falling leaves, crackling fires, cozy clothes and Halloween naturally lend themselves to my interest in tales of sword and sorcery.
Some of that is my complete inability to focus on anything for any length of time, but I just have so much that I want to do.
Boy, I wish I could just win the lottery so I could spend all of my time working on my book series (and being able to afford all the ancillary expenses of self-publishing). However, that’s just a wish. I only buy lottery tickets when the jackpot creeps up to a half-billion or more.
In the meantime, I’m doing what I can when I can.Β The Holiday Season Serial Romance will get written before Thanksgiving and I’ll have a solid plan for the Sentinels series before the end of the year. That’s the plan.
I hope you’re having a lovely, cozy π Autumn π weekend. I certainly am…
