Christmas Shopping – Done!

Just kidding. There’s still some shopping to do but that’s a pretty good start…

Dreams

The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up. ~Paul Valery

This time of year is uniquely suited to dreaming. The sun rises late and sets early, so there’s plenty of time for it.

It’s the time of year to make out your Christmas wish list and start toying with notions about your New Year’s resolutions.

As the year draws to a close, it feels like the end of the day when you try to cram in a little extra effort to fulfill the plans you had.

For me, mid/late Fall is the best time of year. It’s a time for being cozy and holding the love of your life as close as possible.

That’s a dream come true. That’s a tangible joy whether I’m awake or asleep. That is the essence of happiness.

Shirley Temple I’m Gettin nuttin’ for Christmas

This song always cracked me up as a kid. It doesn’t get as much play as it should anymore. Cancel culture deems it mean.

If punishing bad behavior is mean, then we probably just need a lot more mean in this world. Permissiveness has caused entirely too many problems.

SANTA GIVES KIDS COAL PRANK (COPS CALLED)

The tradition of giving coal to bad kids in place of presents has fallen by the wayside. I don’t think we need to have Krampus running around thrashing kids with sticks, but there’s nothing wrong with not rewarding bad behavior with nice presents.

Here are some ideas for giving edible coal as a gag gift for friends and relatives or as a warning to naughty children. For those who really want to get their geek on, the rock candy geodes look like a pretty cool project.

Value

Simplicity and repose are the qualities that measure the true value of any work of art. ~Frank Lloyd Wright

That’s the key word in any piece of work. Whether it’s a creative endeavor like writing fiction or just doing your day job, providing value is what makes the work worth doing and worth paying you money for.

The important thing to making money is the concept of exchanging value. The better your work, the more money you’ll make.

If you’re just going through the motions, you won’t prosper. Do what you do the best you can do it and it will lead to better results and remuneration.

Just do it…

Keeping it quick again today. I’ve got tons of things to do and it’s time I got on with them. Have a lovely, dreamy weekend.
