Particularly on social media. If you can go to Facebook jail for stating the patently obvious or get banned from YouTube or Twitter for reading a newspaper headline, you’ll know that things have gotten problematic.

I joined the United States Air Force for the specific purpose of preventing the spread of communism. I went to the Soviet Union to watch it collapse under the weight of its inevitable failure.

Communism sucks, and it’s doomed to failure wherever it’s tried.

That brings us to the current state of Wokeadishu. Every nitwit with a half-assed opinion is being treated to their 15 minutes of fame. The hilarious thing about it is that the 15 minutes of fame typically leads to intense scrutiny. As soon as we start looking at these people, the shine on their star seems to tarnish quite rapidly.

Just as well, it’s better that their ideas be exposed and dismissed rapidly. We’ve got entirely too much BS in circulation.

The worst part of it is that the willing participation of the media has allowed these problems to fester much longer than they should. Part of it is that “journalism” has turned into a perpetual op-ed cycle. Instead of simply telling us what is happening, they’re trying to look smart by telling us why it’s happening and what it means.

Problem is, they don’t fucking know because they’re barely qualified to read the copy that’s been written by Pravda wannabes.

The news should not have a narrative. Events speak for themselves, folks.

I’m sick to death of the woke crowd trying to reinvent history so they can unravel our society. If you don’t like it, fuck the hell off. Go found a communist country somewhere else. We were just fine here without your interference.

If you want to “fundamentally transform” this country, go start your own someplace else. If your ideas work, your new country will thrive. When they don’t, you’ll be another failed communist state who can apply for financial aid from the United States.

To be honest, everybody will be that much happier. You can continue living delusionally with a financial subsidy and we can live without your lame-brained BS in perpetuity. Please leave. Please.

While it was merely a statement of the dissolution of our relationship with the Mother Country, it expressed some unheard of new ideas.

The thing is, we don’t need to abolish our government. We simply need to purge it of the morons who don’t understand or care why it was founded.

It would be nice to think we could simply wait for their terms to end and hope they’d be replaced by someone sensible.

If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that unscrupulous assholes will stoop to any means to secure their permanent position sucking on the federal teat.

It’s well past time for these parasites to be purged. We need term limits for the Congress and probably for the Supreme Court justices as well. Those who pass the laws should be aware that they’re going to have to go home at some point and be required to live with them.

The career barnacles who have been running DC into the ground since I was in school need to go. Enough of their insidious crap already.

Shadows

Not everybody gets a positive arc in this series, folks. The brighter a light shines, the deeper the shadows it casts.

As the series begins, The Sentinels have been “in business” for 13 years. Their primary concern has been to assist the Empire City Police Department’s Tactical Division and to perform outreach appearances for schools, churches, community groups and any other public spaces that will host them.

Our heroes have been occupied with gang wars and other street crime. They have no idea how deep the shadows fall.

Sadly, neither do Claudia Barlucci or David Harz. They’re just normal people living relatively normal lives. That’s all anyone actually wants, isn’t it?

Sadly, normal isn’t in the cards for these two. More’s the pity. They’re actually very nice people.

Unfortunately, even falling into the penumbra of The Conclave’s corrupting influence imparts an irremovable taint.

The age-old evil of these insidious conjurers poisons Empire City in a way that the Sentinels’ quaint attempts to positively impact the city cannot entirely offset.

So, it has been said that it takes a monster to fight a monster. Sadly for David and Claudia, that’s what it will take to bring The Conclave down. Sadly for Empire City, doing so will open a much bigger can of worms.
