Summer Forgot To End…

Noooooooo!!!!! I’ve been waiting for Autumn to come. The equinox has come and gone but the hot weather remains. Blech!

More Pain

The last course of prednisone had a generally positive effect but the doctor’s concern was that the costochondritis would surge back almost immediately. Well, I finished up my course last week and the pain has been creeping back into the sides of my chest. He felt that another month of it, while not his preference, was generally necessary to put an end to it. 20 days of whole tablets and 20 days of halves. I got my new pills today. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a lot better than the last few days. Oy, God! The pain…

The intensity of the pain has been making me drowsy and unable to focus. Fortunately, I got my second course today. Hopefully, in the next day or two, I should start feeling better. Hopefully, in the next 40 days, we’ll see an actual, final end to this costochondritis. I really need this pain to end permanently.

False Autumn

So, I’ve been waiting for Autumn to come but it still hasn’t. The season is officially here but the weather didn’t come with it. I’m seriously not impressed. I hate summer when it’s Summer but I REALLY hate summer when it’s Autumn. That thoroughly blows!

Between the resurgent costochondral pain and the continuous summer heat, I’m really in a hell of a state. The pain is making me drowsy. As such, I’m not accomplishing a damned thing. Yes, all you Type-A, push-through-it, nose-to-the-grindstone myrmidons of productivity, I could (theoretically) just hunker down and get it done.

Yeah, right.

I’m lucky to simply stay awake, much less do productive things.

Delicious Autumn!

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns. ~George Eliot

Okay, despite the discomfort of the resurging costochondritis and the never-ending summer weather, there is a matter of all of the WONDERFUL things available in the Autumn season.

Apple Cider, all varieties of squash, pumpkin spice everything…

That makes this season worth the wait. I’m hoping that next week will actually be like Autumn. I’m hoping that the medicine begins working and I can actually do the things I’d like to be doing if I wasn’t struggling to stay awake. I’m hoping that I actually have some progress to report on Saturday.

That’s the long and short of it today. Hope you’re having a lovely first week of Autumn, such as it is
