Light ‘Em Up!

Thanksgiving has come and gone. Christmas approacheth with wondrous haste, so let’s get those decorations up and twinkling!

‘Tis The Season

I’ve got oodles of Christmas cookies sitting in the fridge just waiting to be baked. Here’s some lovely Christmas music to enjoy them with.

Christmas comes with its own set of expectations. How you celebrate is your own business. If you celebrate is your own business.

As for me, I like watching a Christmas movie or special each day. Netflix has done their best to provide me with a variety of Christmas movies, but I do have my favorites.

It’s Different Downtown

Another holiday tradition is the arrival and subsequent lighting of the massive Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. The video above of the tree arriving is from about two weeks ago, but the lighting will be tonight. Things are just bigger in New York City.

They’ve got the Rockettes, FAO Schwarz is open again and who can forget Times Square in relation to New Year’s?

Christmas in the city is a spectacular affair and my beloved daughter and her friends are soaking it up this year. I wouldn’t mind having a go, but it will have to wait until my ankle is less sensitive to long-distance jaunts. New York City blocks are as gargantuan as their Joie De Vivre.

We’ve Got Cats

Moving between the legs of tables and of chairs, rising or falling, grasping at kisses and toys, advancing boldly, sudden to take alarm, retreating to the corner of arm and knee, eager to be reassured, taking pleasure in the fragrant brilliance of the Christmas tree. ~T. S. Eliot

Unlike the folks at Rockefeller Center, we’ve got to put our tree up a bit later. Cats do love to have a romp when there are curious new things to climb upon and shiny decorations to bat at.

Just the same, even without a longterm tree on display we do enjoy the holiday season in a less overt way.

That’s that for today. I hope you’re enjoying your holidays as much as we are.
