Allan’s Back!

Allan and his troop have returned from camp. By all accounts, a good time was had by all.

Scout Camp

His troop went to a relatively local camp down in the Fort Indiantown Gap area. It seems to have been a very nice camp and the program was well run. Allan enjoyed his merit badge sessions, particularly archery.

Honey Do List

I knocked a few items off of the honey do list today. Much to my wife’s horror, I was actually on the roof. That’s why I did it when she wasn’t home! 😆 😈 😆

Of course, getting up there to clean the gutters is a lot nicer in Autumn weather. A black roof on a mild summer afternoon is, in reality, a sweltering patch of hell if you’re wearing shorts.

Fortunately, Connor was able to find me some work gloves and a patch of rug to put my exposed skin on while I screwed the gutters back into the house.

Hopefully, the new screws will hold a while. It’s kind of awkward sitting on the edge of the roof trying to find a viable angle to screw the blasted gutters back onto the house.

I also got the holes drilled in the pipes she had cut from the kids’ old swingset. We’ll have to clearcoat the pipes. I’m recommending that she sand down the rusty bits but I think she wants to maintain them for aesthetic purposes. Once she’s got it covered, I’ve got the hardware necessary to create this bench she’s envisioning.

I even cut a board into 9″ sections and screwed them up under the front deck so the lattice has something to rest against without bowing in the middle.

Miles To Go

So, I had a bit of a hiccup on a couple of my sites but I was able to get tech support to blast them for me and I was able to reset them to their pre-jacked-up state in under a day.

I’ve also been standardizing my plugin selections and settings. Having done so went a long way toward making it possible for me to restore those two sites in record time.

I’ve also been working on my legal pages, “about-me” pages and whatever all else. I’m also planning to add eCommerce shops to a couple of my sites.

As for the writing, I’ve been missing a lot of sessions. I’m pretty upset about that but it’s been a matter of being too freaking exhausted to stay up and write or being distracted by technical matters on my other sites. I’m not even sure I’ll get to it tonight unless I take a nap or something. At least I got all the way through Deke’s weekend in protective custody. we can move on to the Conclave and their evil minions, the Cockroaches.

That’s all for today. I’ve got other things to do on other sites and the day is slipping away.
