Super Saturday

We’re having a spectacular weekend here in Southeast Pennsylvania.  Lots of awesome goings-on.

Villains

Connor isn’t going to be his usual, sweet self this weekend. He’s taking on the role of Timmy in Northampton Community College‘s production of Hand to God.

hand-to-god

It’s the tale of a double love triangle between an innocent girl, four sadly damaged people and a demonic puppet. As Dr. Phil says, “Hurt people hurt people.

It’s a heck of a romp and there are two more performances available for those who don’t want to miss it. You can get your tickets here.

Heroes

Allan is attending the Merit Badge Academy today to add to his already impressive array of achievements.

He had wanted to take the Search and Rescue course, but they had to cancel. He’s taking Automotive Maintenance and Public Speaking today.

It won’t be long before he starts planning his Eagle project. He’s doing such a good job with the Boy Scouts and we’re all very proud of him.

Point of View

Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter. ~Oscar Wilde

That’s true of writing as well. Every story is not so much an observation of the world as it is but how the writer sees it or wants it to be.

With non-fiction writing, it’s theoretically just the facts but it can only ever be through the filter of the writer’s experience and possibly their biases.

With fiction writing, the more speculative the genre the more it reflects the writer’s view of how things are or ought to be.

Asking what if renders a high-resolution image of the writer’s mind and mindset.

That’s the excitement for this weekend. I hope you’re having an awesome time as well.
