World UFO Day 2023

It’s 🛸 World UFO Day 👽 and there are more and more news releases about this phenomenon lately.

UFO/UAP IRL

I happen to be privileged enough to be in on the fact that we have been visited on this planet, and the UFO phenomenon is real. ~Edgar Mitchell

The modern concept of UFOs (Unidentified Flying Objects) or UAPs (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) is typically tied to the paranoia of the post-WWII 40s and 50s.

With events such as the Roswell Incident and the reported extraterrestrial interaction with ordinary people like Barney and Betty Hill, there are questions to be asked about whether we’re alone in the universe or if we’re really receiving visits from alien species.

Every now and again, we get releases or teases of upcoming releases of information stating that the government has solid info on the matter.

It could be that these teases and releases are a psy-op to distract us from things that might bother us more than the existence of extraterrestrials.

Have a senile jackass of a President with strong indications of corruption? Better drop some UAP info to distract the public.

🐿️ Squirrel! 🐿️

So, who knows? It could be a distraction or it could be that both things are actually true and it’s on the individual citizen to decide which is more disturbing or Earth-shaking.

Honestly, I have no problem with both things being true. The Fermi Paradox seems perfectly reasonable to me no matter how it shakes out. On the matter of POTUS46, the only reason he hasn’t been impeached for conspicuous crookedness or removed via the 25th Amendment due to senile dementia is because the VP is even worse.

Alien visitation or even invasion have been the subjects of news reporting and speculative fiction for centuries.

Whether you’re talking about the annunaki, demons, faeries, gods or aliens, the actions and motives of others have reflected the mindset of society at the time those stories are told.

Tales of mythological creatures, gods and alien invaders often serve as an attempt to understand human behavior or the attempt to cope with overwhelming circumstances.

Fictional exploration of these themes also serve as a thought experiment of what would happen if supernatural phenomena had a specific impact on individuals or society at large.

I don’t know if aliens are real and have visited or if UFOs are able to be explained in other ways. I don’t particularly care, either.

Unless they’re here to mess with me, they’re free to go about their business. Same goes for the government. You do you. I’ve got my own problems to deal with.

Hope Springs Eternal

Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness. ~Desmond Tutu

One of the core aspects of superheroism is serving as a symbol of hope.

A hero is someone who helps the helpless. Police, firefighters, medics and so many others give hope to people in distress by being levelheaded in chaotic circumstances.

Correspondingly, a superhero is someone who gives hope to people in extreme distress by being levelheaded in unimaginable circumstances.

This was well represented in the “Battle of New York“, the climax to The Avengers in the MCU. Fighting Loki and his Chitauri horde was something that only the Avengers could manage.

Likewise, The Sentinels need to be uniquely suited to address a specific problem and they need to do so in a way that is heroically hope-inspiring.

So, how do I concoct a story that puts my heroes in a position to do that?

As a discovery writer, I let my subconscious take care of that. I shift into right-brain mode and transcribe the movie my creativity is compiling for me.

I’ve been feeding a lot of variables into my creative mind by watching a variety of stories and integrating that with my own life experiences and understanding of human interaction.

That’s an entirely different style of story-telling than what I’ve got planned for Tales Of Olde Auringia and Far-Flung Reaches. But that’s for later. Right now I’m on Chapter 17 of The Sentinels: New Blood and I need to give some thought to this year’s Holiday Season Serial Romance before I hop genres again.

That’s it for today. I hope you have a lovely weekend. If you run into any aliens, ask them to take you to their leader because ours is utter crap.
