National Take A Walk In The Park Day 2024

If you’ve got some time to spare, it’s National Take A Walk In The Park Day. If you’re in my neck of the woods, Tuscarora has some lovely trails.

I really don’t like going outside but when I do, there’s not much better than a stroll through a lovely local park.

Of our local resources, I like Tuscarora the best. It has the features I love most about Pennsylvania.

There are a variety of species of trees, gently sloping hills, songbirds and little creatures that scoot around the periphery as you amble along.

Loath though I am to step outside the cozy comfort of my humble abode, strolling the shaded pathways of Tuscarora State Park is an acceptable alternative.

Benefits

Mental Health Benefits of Getting Outside

I can vouch for this. When I was recovering from my burnout, the simple act of walking out in the sunshine for a while was very therapeutic for me.

We’re usually so busy keeping our noses to the grindstone to get out and soak up some of that Vitamin D. I know I am. The last two months or so have been ridiculously hectic.

Now that the weather is getting relatively pleasant, I’ll have to try to get out more often.

Unusual And Surrealistic

And the most unusual and surrealistic place in New York City is Central Park. ~Christo

You know? The concept of someday really sucks.

Someday, I was hoping to get to NYC to visit the places where The Sentinels will have their adventures.

Unfortunately, the real world has lapsed into absolute chaos. Going will not be a priority as things currently stand.

It’s all well and good to use Google Maps and watch shows and movies that take place in New York, but I really wanted to see it up close.

I can’t afford to right now anyway but I’m thinking that unless something changes rather radically, it’s going to be somewhere nobody in their right mind would go on purpose.

I don’t want to have to depend on Snake Plissken to get me back out again.

That’s it for today. I hope you got to take a stroll outdoors if the weather is cooperative in your locale. See you Wednesday.
