π Food for Angels πΌπΌ
When one has tasted it, he knows what the angels eat. ~Mark Twain, Pudd’nhead Wilson
It’s literally not ποΈ summer π·π» if you don’t get to cut into a watermelon.
When you see that juicy red wedge and those tiny black seeds, you know you’re in for something exquisite.
It’s such a versatile treat, too.
You can do a basic slice. It’s classic. It’s juicy and sweet. It’s refreshing in a way that other fruit is not.
Balling it is a classic presentation. It resembles a donut hole, but it splashes in your mouth and is so flavorful.
It blends up into a flavor-rich smoothie on its own or in combination with other fruit or dairy.
Watermelon is satisfying in so many ways that it almost makes it worth enduring miserable muggy season.

This π Is βΊοΈ Happiness
To cut with a sharp knife a bright green watermelon on a big scarlet plate of a summer afternoon. Ah, is this not happiness? ~Lin Yutang, The Importance of Living
Like I need a philosopher to tell me that watermelon is the heart of happiness in my least favorite season. Puh-leez…
What is also happiness is knowing my dad is on the mend.
We were pretty concerned recently and I was afforded an opportunity to go to Florida and visit him just in case.
Thankfully, he rallied and is taking his recovery very seriously.
My sister, my mom and I got to watch him really come back to life in the last few days and we pray that it continues.
The man has never done a wrong thing in his life.
You could not find a more genuinely nice guy than my father, so it really hurts me when stuff like this happens.
Thank goodness and thank God that it didn’t go the way it was trending.
We’re fortunate to have him in our lives and, frankly, we’re nowhere near ready to let him go just yet.
We love you, Dad. Keep up the hard work and come back to us…
That’s all for today. See you back on Wednesday for π¦ππ¦
